Supervises and performs maintenance to include utilities equipment and special purpose support systems.

The maintenance supervisor supervise and perform field and sustainment maintenance on tracked and wheeled vehicles, construction equipment, (which includes that used for earthmoving, grading and compaction; lifting and loading; quarrying and rock crushing; asphalt and concrete mixing and surfacing; water pumping; air compression and pneumatic tools; powered bridging and their associated trailers and material handling equipment (MHE)) and special purpose equipment maintenance activities to include: (1) Power Generation Equipment; (2) Air Conditioning/Refrigeration Systems; and (3) Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment. Perform as support maintenance machine ship supervisor or metalworking supervisor; supervise recovery operations on track vehicles, wheel vehicles and related activities including electrical wiring harness system repair/maintenance; the mechanical maintenance supervisor supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs the unit, direct support and general support (DS/GS) maintenance of all mechanical equipment; (1) serving as principal maintenance or operations NCO in maintenance battalion or higher level organization; (2) supervising personnel performing the duties of; (a) Maintenance supervisor (63X4O); (b) Armament/fire control maintenance supervisor (45Z4O); (c) Construction equipment repairer (62B4O);(d) Track vehicle repairer (63H4O).

Maintains (inspects, repairs, tests, and adjusts) gasoline engine systems, bottle cleaning/charging stations, air conditioner electrical systems, air conditioner vapor systems, refrigeration unit electrical systems, portable heater fuel/electrical systems, fire extinguisher rechargers, and fire extinguishers/valves; supervises lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties; perform quartermaster and chemical equipment repairer (MOS 63J) duties, supervises lower grade soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties; inspects and troubleshoots petroleum, oil, and lubrication equipment, smoke generators, laundry and bath units, chemical equipment, water purification equipment systems, portable forced air heaters, bottle cleaning/charging station, air conditioner units, refrigeration units, and fire extinguisher recharger; performs maintenance management activities, including production and quality control.

The mechanical maintenance supervisor supervises, plans, coordinates, and directs the unit, direct support and general support (DS/GS) maintenance of all mechanical equipment; (1) serving as principal maintenance or operations NCO in maintenance battalion or higher level organization; (2) supervising personnel performing the duties of; (a) Maintenance supervisor (63X4O); (b) Armament/fire control maintenance supervisor (45Z4O); (c) Construction equipment repairer (62B4O); (d) Track vehicle repairer (63H4O); provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections, visits and ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; ensures adherence to command policies; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instruction; ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service and command regulations or policies; responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of enlisted soldiers. Assesses training at all levels and provides feedback to appropriate commanders and leaders; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted soldiers of the command; responsible for and provides guidance on Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Program (NCODP); inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; serves as president or member of command promotion board or removal board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; sits as chairperson or member of a command's "Military Member of the Quarter/Year" competition for enlisted soldiers or NCOs, as directed by local regulations; responsible for quality, control and training of noncommissioned officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely submissions; reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions on deficiencies to commanders, other leaders and rating officials; performs other duties prescribed by the commander; assists in the professional development of junior and company grade officer.
