Performs organizational, direct and general support and depot level maintenance on fixed station radio receiver and transmitter equipment.

Supervises the performance of direct support, general support, and depot level maintenance, calibration, and installation of communications-electronics equipment; supervises, assists, and inspects the duties performed by subordinate enlisted personnel; organizes, instructs, and counsels subordinate personnel; initiates and conducts on-the-job training programs; conducts training and presents demonstrations in cross-training personnel; organizes and supervises subordinate personnel and activities of units, shops, or activities engaged in maintenance, calibration, or installation of communications electronics equipment to include quality assurance; recommends changes in work procedures and reports on unsatisfactory equipment and circuitry within communications-electronic equipment; reviews, consolidates, and prepares technical reports pertaining to communications-electronic equipment maintenance, calibration, or installation; prepares and maintains records connected with prescribed load lists and authorized stockage lists; establishes and maintains liaison with supported and supporting activities; coordinates maintenance, calibration and installation activities; coordinates maintenance calibration and installation activities by establishment of work priorities; diagnoses and determines causes of unusual equipment malfunctions; reads, interprets, and explains complex concepts, specifications, circuits, schematic and wiring diagrams; instructs and demonstrates correct maintenance, calibration and installation procedures and utilization of special test equipment, tools, and standards; supervises the performance of direct support, general support and depot level maintenance, calibration, and installation of communications-electronic equipment; determines requirements, assigns duties and coordinates the activities of subordinate personnel; advises maintenance officer or unit commander on maintenance activities; assists command and staff in continuous appraisal of communications-electronic equipment maintenance, calibration, and installation, operations, and training; provides guidance to subordinate personnel; applies policies and procedures for facility/unit/station management; supervises the duties performed by subordinate personnel engages in installation/maintenance; determines effectiveness of performance to meet workload demands.

Installs, performs organizational, direct support and general support and depot maintenance of fixed station radio equipment; tunes receiver and transmitter; makes operating adjustments to keep frequency settings within prescribed tolerances; performs adjustments on fixed station radio equipment to assure operating efficiency of circuits; places spare equipment in operation during failure or normal equipment; advises supervisory or maintenance personnel of equipment malfunction or non-function; informs supervisory or facilities control personnel when faults are cleared or changes accomplished for service restoration; keeps technical and administrative records pertaining to station operations; performs preventive maintenance on equipment; positions, secures, and interconnects equipment; interprets fixed station instructions for radio receivers and transmitters including appropriate antennas, antenna erection, antenna systems, and factors affecting the use of antennas and antenna systems; tests equipment to localize and diagnose causes of malfunction, or non-function; removes faulty or suspected components; examines for presence of foreign matter or other damage; checks action of such items as relays, switches, and coils and makes necessary adjustments; traces and tests circuit components of radio equipment; interprets telecommunications service orders, circuit, schematic, and cable diagrams; inspects, dismantles, and repairs circuit wiring; replaces defective components and individual parts; substitutes components parts and fabricates simple parts not requiring precision machine tooling; cleans, tightens, and adjusts contacts, mountings, switches, relays, and meters; test operates repaired radio equipment with common and specialized hand-tools, measuring instrument, and testing devices; computes voltage, amperage, and resistance factors using algebraic formulas; operates associated communications equipment such as carrier and teletypewriters; interprets periodic and special propagation charts and data; recognizes friendly and hostile electronic countermeasures; counters hostile jamming, and reports actions taken; applies safety precautions when working around high voltage and takes proper action in event of an emergency; installs, performs organizational, direct and general support and depot maintenance of fixed station radio equipment; airlines received and transmitter; adjusts to keep frequency settings within prescribed tolerances; adjusts on fixed station radio equipment to assure operating efficiency of circuits; replaces faulty equipment with spare equipment; advises supervisory or maintenance personnel of equipment malfunction or non-function; informs supervisory or facilities control personnel when faults are cleared or changes accomplished for service restoration; maintains technical and administrative records; performs preventive maintenance on equipment operated; installs, secures, and interconnects equipment; interprets operating instructions for radio receivers and transmitters including appropriate antenna systems and factors affecting the use of antennas and antenna systems; tests equipment to localize and diagnose causes of malfunction, or non-function; removes faulty or suspected components; examines for cause of malfunction; checks operation of relays, switches, and coils and makes necessary adjustments; traces and tests circuit components of radio equipment; interprets telecommunications service orders, circuit, schematic, and cable diagrams; repairs circuit wiring, replaces and repairs defective components and individual parts; substitutes component parts and fabricates simple parts not requiring precision machine tooling; cleans, tightens, and adjusts contacts, mountings, switches, relays, and meters; operates associated communications equipment such as carrier and teletypewriters; interprets periodic and special propagation charts and data; recognizes friendly and hostile electronic countermeasures; counte
