Supervises, inspects and performs aviation maintenance on the AH-64A armament/ electrical and avionic systems.
Supervise aircraft armament, fire control, electrical and avionic systems maintenance and technical inspection activities; determine man-hours, personnel, parts and facility requirements to repair aircraft armament, electrical and avionic systems associated equipment; plan aircraft maintenance areas, component repair shop and facilities; instructs subordinates in aircraft armament, electrical and avionic systems repair and technical inspection techniques and procedures according to directives, technical manuals, work standards and operational policies; maintains supply economy and discipline; supervise the armament, electrical and avionic repair systems technical training program; prepares evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft armament, electrical and fire control systems maintenance and related activities; recommends and administers plans and policies; the aircraft maintenance senior sergeant supervises aviation unit maintenance (AVUM), intermediate (AVIM), and depot maintenance in activities having a mix of aircraft maintenance and/or component repair MOS; prepares studies, evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance, component repair, and related activities; plans aircraft maintenance areas, components repair shops, and facilities; apply production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to aircraft maintenance and shop operations; supervise the verification and validation of technical manuals, training devices and contractor furnished training material pertaining to new aircraft and/or component fielding; supervise research and development projects in aviation and related areas; assist in the development of maintenance procedures for prototype aircraft and components; supervise the development and instruction of training programs; recommend and establish plans, policies, and procedures for aircraft maintenance operations; maintains supply economy and discipline.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctions in AH-64A armament, electrical, and avionic systems and components including solid state and transistorized subsystems according to pertinent technical manuals, directives and safety procedures; perform maintenance, authorized modifications and alignment on aircraft weapons components, fire control units, and sighting elements, electronic and mechanical devices; repair, replace and performs operational and preventive checks and alignment on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics and controlled cryptographic equipment; test, troubleshoot and repair test sets and diagnostic equipment; maintain records on weapons and subsystems; requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of the armament, electrical, and fire control avionic systems; uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools; prepare forms and records related to MOS; (2) MOSC 15X2O, perform duties described in paragraph (1) and provides technical guidance to subordinate Soldiers; schedules maintenance on test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment; alters or modifies material according to DA approved modification work orders; participate in maintenance test flights as required; (3) MOSC 15X3O, supervise and provides technical guidance to subordinate personnel performing aircraft armament, electrical and avionic systems maintenance; evaluate maintenance operations and facilities for compliance with directives, technical manuals, work standards, safety procedures, and operational policies; performs maintenance trend analysis and applies production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to AH-64A armament, electrical and avionic shop operations; supervise the establishment of the Forward Area Rearming Point (FARP) instructs personnel and conducts technical training in electrical repair procedures and shop and flight line safety; evaluate the technical training program; monitors requisition of parts, tools and supplies.
The aircraft maintenance senior sergeant supervises aviation unit maintenance (AVUM), intermediate (AVIM), and depot maintenance in activities having a mix of aircraft maintenance and/or component repair MOS; prepares studies, evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance, component repair, and related activities; plans aircraft maintenance areas, components repair shops, and facilities; apply production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to aircraft maintenance and shop operations; supervise the verification and validation of technical manuals, training devices and contractor furnished training material pertaining to new aircraft and/or component fielding; supervise research and development projects in aviation and related areas; assist in the development of maintenance procedures for prototype aircraft and components; supervise the development and instruction of training programs; recommend and establish plans, policies, and procedures for aircraft maintenance operations; maintains supply economy and discipline; provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections, visits and ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; ensures adherence to command policies; holds first sergeants' or sergeants' major call to announce information and instruction; ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service and command regulations or policies; responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of enlisted soldiers. Assesses training at all levels and provides feedback to appropriate commanders and leaders; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted soldiers of the command; responsible for and provides guidance on Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Program (NCODP); inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; serves as president or member of command promotion board or removal board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; sits as chairperson or member of a command's "Military Member of the Quarter/Year" competition for enlisted soldiers or NCOs, as directed by local regulations; responsible for quality, control and training of noncommissioned officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely submissions; reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions on deficiencies to commanders, other leaders and rating officials; performs other duties prescribed by the commander; assists in the professional development of junior and company grade officer.
