Supervises or performs organizational maintenance of air defense acquisition radars.
Performs duties shown in preceding level skill; serves as principal NCO in unit at battalion level or higher performing DS/GS maintenance on the NIKE missile system; serves as First Sergeant of a company; performs duties associated with SQI M; serves as chief instructor in a training facility, chief adviser to a Reserve Component unit, or chief adviser to a foreign military unit; provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.
Performs organizational maintenance on high power acquisition, low power acquisition (LOPAR), auxiliary battery acquisition radars (ABAR), ECCM consoles, IFF equipment and associated communications systems security devices, associated battery control circuits, fire unit integration facility (FUIF), and battery terminal equipment elements of associated fire distribution systems; determines operating condition; performs organizational checks with common and specialized test and measuring devices; locates equipment malfunctions with test results and circuit, analysis techniques; isolates faulty components; inspects, tests, and replaces defective components; makes adjustments to return equipment to operating condition; advises supervisory personnel when equipment malfunction requires services of support maintenance personnel; installs equipment modification; completes maintenance and supply forms; determines faulty work practices and demonstrates proper maintenance procedures and techniques; coordinates activities with supporting maintenance units; supervises preparation and administration of technical and maintenance logs, forms, records, and reports; supervises the requisitioning and stockage of supplies and repair parts.
