Financial management resource officers formulate and supervise the execution of policies and procedures pertaining to the accounting for appropriated funds in the operating forces and shore establishment.
Supervision of the managerial accounting section; advise the Commander and Comptroller on the technical aspects of accounting policy and procedures; train fund administrators; track Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) system changes; track system interfaces established by DFAS; validate official accounting reports produced by DFAS; served as the financial expert at the Sassy Management Unit (SMU); supervise the correction of accounting errors; supervise implementation of new accounting policies; identify and report system problems; ensure validity of accounting records; and serve as the liaison officer to DFAS.
