Performs and supervises organizational maintenance and recover operations on M60A2 tanks, to include automotive, turret, fire control, and recovery vehicle (tracked) AVLB chassis.

Performs as an M60A2 Tank System Mechanic, fulfilling duties in both automotive (MOSC 63N20) and turret (MOSC 45R20) mechanics; supervises and instructs; plans and organizes work schedules and assigns duties; instructs and supervises lower skill personnel in troubleshooting and proper organizational maintenance practices and procedures; supervises maintenance training, including preventive maintenance training of equipment operators; performs or supervises on-site maintenance team; performs approval inspection and testing of repaired equipment; understands and, when authorized, applies controlled cannibalization techniques and procedures to effect repair of battle-damaged systems; knows and applies map reading, radio communications procedures, traffic management, and convoy operations.

Performs as an M60A2 Tank Senior Maintenance Supervisor (Senior Master Mechanic), for battalion maintenance section and personnel; supervision and management; supervises organizational maintenance on assigned track and wheeled vehicles and upkeep of hand and power tools; plans workflow, assigns duties, and instructs in maintenance techniques; supervises processing of work orders; supervises, trains, advises, and inspects subordinate personnel in the use of TAMMS, PL, and automated system outputs; initiates necessary maintenance management and repair parts corrective actions; evaluates work performance of lower skill personnel, determines training requirements, and recommends corrective action; assists in the preparation of maintenance operations plans, policies, and procedures; supervises or prepares technical studies, evaluations, special reports, correspondence and records pertaining to organizational maintenance operations, training, and related operations; provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections, visits and ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; ensures adherence to command policies; holds first sergeants' or sergeants' major call to announce information and instruction; ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service and command regulations or policies; responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of enlisted soldiers; assesses training at all levels and provides feedback to appropriate commanders and leaders; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted soldiers of the command; responsible for and provides guidance on Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Program (NCODP); inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; serves as president or member of command promotion board or removal board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; sits as chairperson or member of a command's Military Member of the Quarter/Year competition for enlisted soldiers or NCOs, as directed by local regulations; responsible for quality, control and training of noncommissioned officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely submissions; reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions on deficiencies to commanders, other leaders and rating officials; performs other duties prescribed by the commander; assists in the professional development of junior and company grade officer.
