Performs direct support, general support, and depot maintenance on aerial surveillance infrared systems.
Must be qualified in MOSC 35P40; serves as chief maintenance NCO or principal NCO in an maintenance facility engaged in radar equipment repair or maintenance of AVIONIC equipment; recommends changes to maintenance publications and drawings; enforces shop safety principles and procedures; assists in preparation of plans, policies and procedures for maintenance operations; maintains supply economy/discipline; supervises and participates in preparation of studies, evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to radar and AVIONIC maintenance operations, training, and related activities; applies production, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures; provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds first sergeants' or sergeants' major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.

Performs support and depot maintenance on aerial surveillance infrared systems used in the OV-1C (MOHAWK) Aircraft, data link transmitting equipment, ground receiving/processing equipment, and associated equipment; performs troubleshooting procedures to localize and isolate defective components; reads electrical and electronic circuit schematic diagrams; conducts equipment tests utilizing common and special purpose test equipment; replaces faulty components utilizing common and special purpose hand tools; alines and test-operates repaired equipment; performs modification work orders; performs organizational maintenance on test equipment organic to the support maintenance section; performs support and depot maintenance on aerial surveillance infrared systems to include detailed test procedures to localize and isolate defective components utilizing conventional and special purpose test equipment; determines extent of required maintenance; advises organizational maintenance personnel on changes in maintenance requirements due to performance of modification work orders; prepares Prescribed Load Lists and/or Authorized Stockage Lists; requisitions and maintains authorized stockage of repair parts and supplies; maintains technical reference library on surveillance infrared systems; maintains historical maintenance records in accordance with TM 38-750; prepares technical and administrative reports on maintenance of surveillance infrared systems and associated equipment; inspects, supervises the performance of support and depot maintenance of aerial surveillance radar and/or infrared systems used in the OV-1B/C (MOHAWK) Aircraft, ground receiving and processing equipment, and associated equipment; supervises and/or conducts cross-training of the maintenance personnel assigned to the maintenance section; inspects equipment to insure proper and effective maintenance procedures are utilized by maintenance personnel; monitors and supervises stockage levels and usage of repair parts and supplies; supervises maintenance of current technical reference library on aerial surveillance systems and associated equipment; supervises maintenance of historical records and reports in accordance with TM 38-750.
