Supervises intermediate maintenance on artillery turrets and similar materiel.
Serving as principal maintenance or operations NCO in maintenance battalion or higher level organization; supervising personnel performing the duties of(a) Machinist (44E40); Armament/fire control maintenance supervisor (45Z40); Construction equipment repairer (62B40); provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds first sergeants' or sergeants' major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.
Supervises armament/fire control maintenance in intermediate or depot maintenance activity; understands test and inspection procedures that apply to armament/fire control maintenance; plans and organizes work area layout to gain maximum efficiency and utilization of time tools, equipment; and personnel; schedules, assigns, and coordinates work according to the availability and capabilities of personnel and equipment; estimates time required for specific maintenance efforts; determines appropriate maintenance method of repair or fabrication; reads, understands, and applies information contained in intermediate maintenance technical manuals and complex schematic diagrams; applies production control and quality control principles and procedures to maintenance operations; performs maintenance-related administrative functions; supervises the preparation of records, reports, and training of subordinate personnel; establishes and controls a file of pertinent maintenance technical publications; serving as principal maintenance or operations NCO in maintenance battalion or higher level organization; supervising personnel performing the duties of(a) Machinist (44E40); Armament/fire control maintenance supervisor (45Z40); Construction equipment repairer (62B40).
Performs intermediate maintenance on light, medium, and heavy self-propelled artillery and component turret mechanisms, towed artillery, air defense artillery, and similar materiel; diagnoses and troubleshoots artillery weapons and artillery turret malfunctions; performs the duties of small arms repairer (MOS 45B20) or artillery repairer (MOS 45L20); performs, supervises, and inspects intermediate maintenance of turret and weapons of tanks and cupolas; evaluates the condition of small arms; supervises and inspects intermediate maintenance of artillery and turret mechanisms and similar materiel.
