Performs organizational maintenance on Sheridan tank turret and related equipment.

Must be able to supervise personnel performing the duties of MOS 41J, 44B, 62B, 63C, 63H, 45Z or 41C at the 4 skill level; serves as principal maintenance or operations NCO in maintenance battalion or higher level; plans and lays out mechanical maintenance shops and facilities; plans workflow, assigns duties, and instructs in maintenance work techniques; determines level of maintenance in processing work orders; supervises production and quality control of maintenance operations; evaluates work performance of subordinates, determines training requirements, and recommends corrective actions; applies production and quality control principles and procedures to maintenance operations; assists in preparation of maintenance operations, plans, policies, and procedures; supervises or prepares technical studies, evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to maintenance operations, training, and related operations; supervises preparation of work orders, requisitions, recurring reports and correspondence; performs principal noncommissioned officer duties associated with SQI M.

Performs as Sheridan turret mechanic; inspects and tests electrical traversing and elevation system, firing systems, gun launcher system, fire control system, recoil systems, conduct-of-fire trainers, test equipment, cupola systems and turret mounted weapons; troubleshoots turret/cupola systems with turret electrical drive control test set or electrical diagrams; adjusts, removes and replaces authorized components; performs tests and checks of turret/cupola systems and conduct-of-fire trainer for proper operation and serviceability; cleans and lubricates turret/cupola systems, test equipment, and turret mounted weapons; test fires weapons; interprets technical and repair parts publications; alters or modifies material in accordance with modification work orders and prescribed procedures; keeps maintenance supply forms and records; performs as Sheridan turret mechanic; provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel in accomplishment of these duties; supervises organizational maintenance, and supervises and inspects support maintenance of turret mechanisms and weapons of tanks, cupolas, and similar material; establishes on-the-job training programs, workload schedules and priorities; evaluates condition of turret mechanisms and weapons, and determines category of maintenance required; supervises technical assistance, repair, and inspection teams; ensures accomplishment of all current modification work orders pertaining to turrets and weapons; inspects equipment of using units, prepares inspection reports, and advises using unit on operation and minor maintenance of equipment.
