Supervises or performs intermediate maintenance on the electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic portions of the PERSHING missile system.
Supervises intermediate level maintenance on electrical mechanical components of the PERSHING missile system and must be able to perform duties of PERSHING electrical mechanical repairer (46N30); provides general supervision of PERSHING missile system maintenance activities.
Serve as missile maintenance control sergeant in maintenance control or operations element of company, detachment, or comparable organization; serve as principal NCO in company engaged in missile maintenance; perform principal noncommissioned officer duties associated with SQI M; serve as chief instructor in a training facility, chief advisor to a Reserve Component unit, or chief advisor, to a foreign military unit; provide overall supervision of the functions shown in skill level 4 of MOS 24S, 27B, 27C, 27G, and skill level 5 (grade E8) of MOS 21L; maintenance chiefs must be able to perform the duties of PERSHING electronic repairer (21L50); CHAPARRAL/REDEYE repairer (27G40); ROLAND system mechanic (24S40); provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by the commander.
Performs intermediate level maintenance on PERSHING missile system erector launcher; mechanical repair shop; missile sections (less propellant and warhead); system structures; missile containers; ground-handling equipment; power distribution sets; related training devices; provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel; supervises and performs duties shown at preceding levels of skill.
