Installs, maintains, and repairs engineer equipment peculiar to missile systems; inspects and test-operates high-psi air compressors, gasoline engines, air conditioning units, missile elevators and other items of engineer equipment integral to missile systems; isolates and diagnoses malfunctions and determines extent of repair and replacement parts required; adjusts equipment and replaces components not requiring extensive disassembly; must be able to perform duties of Engineer Missile Equipment Specialist (MOSC 62C20); removes and replaces faulty assemblies and subassemblies and restores them to serviceable condition; assists welders in repair of components and fabrication of metal parts not available through supply channels; employs test equipment to trace electrical and refrigeration circuits; conducts test-operations on new or repaired equipment before it is issued to using unit.
Must be able to perform the duties of Nuclear Power Plant Chief (52M40); serves as maintenance supervisor in large nuclear power plant, chief of team providing maintenance support to nuclear power plants, or supervisor of small or large nuclear power plant; serves as First Sergeant of a company; interprets and supervises execution of company policy and SOP; assists in planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities that support the company mission; advises company commander on all matters concerning enlisted personnel, to include assignments, reassignments, transfers, promotions, granting of passes and leave, punishments, welfare, privileges, and awards; directs and coordinates company administration; forms unit for drill, ceremonies, and other military formation; receives report of personnel present and absent, and reports number of unauthorized absences; holds NCO call to disseminate instructions and information to subordinate enlisted supervisors; coordinates operation of company food service and supply activities; assists company commander in accomplishing unit training; assists in inspection of organizational activities as prescribed by commander, observes discrepancies, and initiates appropriate corrective action.
