Operates wheeled tractors and attachments, and heavy duty quarry trucks.
Provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.
Serves as Wheeled Tractor Operator, Wheeled Tractor-Scraper Operator, or Quarry Wagon Operator; receives instructions on specific work assignment; performs pre-operation inspection, servicing and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; moves equipment to and from designated worksite; interprets information on surveyors grade stakes and adjusts grade accordingly; judges rough terrain and determines amount of cut and fill required to correctly alter variation to conform to desired construction design; manipulates controls of tractor and towed scraper to raise and lower bowl, to load and spread loaded bowl, and to cut and fill to specified depth; manipulates controls of heavy duty quarry trucks to haul, dump and spread construction materials; scarifies, levels, slopes, and fills earth on roads, railroad beds, airfield runways, building sites, and related areas; hauls, excavates, and performs other earthmoving and hauling operations; notes any malfunctions or deficiencies in equipment operation; performs after operation services on equipment by inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, making minor adjustments, tightening loose bolts, fittings, and connections, and replenishing fuel, oil, and coolant; assists mechanic in performing higher level maintenance.
Must be able to perform the duties of Soils Analyst (51G20); Crawler Tractor Operator (62E20); Crane Operator (62F30); General Construction Machine Operator (62J30); Grader Operator (62K20); Wheeled Tractor Operator (62L20); or Rough Terrain Forklift and Loader Operator (62M20); supervises employment of construction machinery in support of construction operations; organizes machinery operations phases of construction projects; supervises operation of unit engaged in construction equipment operation; estimates equipment and operator requirements for specific jobs; selects equipment such as soil mixing, aggregate drying, and asphalt distributing and finishing machines, crawler tractors and attachments, cranes and crane shovels, pneumatic and internal combustion powered machines used in drilling, crushing, grading and cleaning rock and gravel, concrete producing and paving machines, power rollers, air compressors, entrenching machines, well drilling equipment, earth augers, rotary brooms and tillers, water distributors, graders and attachments, wheeled tractors and attachments, heavy duty quarry trucks, rough terrain forklifts, and scoop loaders; allocates equipment to different jobs; coordinates construction machinery operations with related construction work; observes machine operations and inspects finished products; enforces safety rules; prepares progress reports; prepares reports on personnel, machine operations, training, and related subjects; evaluates work performance and recommends such actions as reassignment of duties and requirements for training; must be able to perform the duties of an Asphalt Equipment Operator (62D40), Quarryman (62G40); Concrete Paving Equipment Operator (62H40); or Construction Machine Supervisor (62N40); serves as First Sergeant of a company; interprets and supervises execution of company policy and SOP; assists in planning, coordinating, and supervising, all activities that support the company mission; advises company commander on all matters concerning enlisted personnel, to include assignments, reassignments, transfers, promotions, granting of passes and leave, punishments, welfare, privileges and awards. Directs and coordinates company administration; forms unit for drill, ceremonies, and other military formations; receives report of personnel present and absent, and reports number of unauthorized absences; holds NCO call to disseminate instructions and information to subordinate enlisted supervisors; coordinates operation of company food service and supply activities; assists company commander in accomplishing unit training; assists in inspection of organizational activities as prescribed by commander, observes discrepancies, and initiates appropriate corrective action.
