Performs intermediate and depot maintenance on avionic equipment which operates using the radar principle.
Prepares studies, evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance, component repair and relates activities; plans aircraft maintenance areas, components repair shops, and facilities; applies production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to aircraft maintenance and shop operations; supervises the verification and validation of technical manuals, training devices and contractor furnished training material pertaining to new aircraft and/or component fielding; supervises research and development projects in aviation and related areas; assists in the development of maintenance procedures for prototype aircraft and components; supervises the development and instruction of training programs; recommends and establishes plans, policies and procedures for aircraft maintenance operations; maintains supply economy and discipline; provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds first sergeants' or sergeants' major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.
Supervises intermediate and depot maintenance of aviation communications, navigation, radar, flight control and other electronic/electrical systems associated with Army aircraft; prepares studies, evaluations, special reports, and records pertaining to aircraft maintenance, component repair and relates activities; plans aircraft maintenance areas, components repair shops, and facilities; applies production control, quality control and other maintenance management principles and procedures to aircraft maintenance and shop operations; supervises the verification and validation of technical manuals, training devices and contractor furnished training material pertaining to new aircraft and/or component fielding; supervises research and development projects in aviation and related areas; assists in the development of maintenance procedures for prototype aircraft and components; supervises the development and instruction of training programs; recommends and establishes plans, policies and procedures for aircraft maintenance operations; maintains supply economy and discipline.
Performs organizational maintenance on test, diagnostic and measurement equipment used to diagnose problems in avionic radar equipment and assists in the intermediate maintenance of avionic airborne radar equipment which includes the following: terrain following avoidance radar; Doppler navigation radar; weather radar, station keeping radar, radar altimeters, identification friend or foe transponders, TACAN, and inertial navigation equipment; performs as avionic radar repairer and performs unit level maintenance on special test equipment used to troubleshoot radar equipment; supervises radar repairs, provides quality assurance on repaired radar equipment.
