Takes ground and aerial still photographs, develops black and white and color film, and makes contact prints and enlargements; selects camera, film, and accessory equipment that will best accomplish the mission; employs professional lighting and shooting techniques; develops black and white and color film; numbers negatives and prints and maintains photo records and files; employs quality control procedures, processes black and white and color films and prints, using manual or automatic equipment in fixed or mobile laboratories; duplicates color slides; prepares materials for audio-visual presentations; processes motion picture film; operates and performs preventive maintenance on all photographic equipment; performs duties shown in preceding level of skill and provides technical guidance to lower graded personnel; supervises photographic laboratory and coordinates motion picture activities; prepares work schedules based on incoming requests; assigns tasks to subordinates and monitors work produced to insure it meets prescribed standards; coordinates activities of personnel involved in motion picture photography; observes, critiques and demonstrates proper techniques to subordinate personnel and conducts unit training activities to insure efficient operation and supply economy; participates in establishment of priorities and scope of missions; reviews, consolidates and prepares technical administrative and supply reports and records.
Provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.
Supervises personnel performing duties of Photographic Laboratory Supervisor (84B30) or Illustrator (81E30); critiques completed work, advising on technical and artistic deficiencies and methods by which such defects can be avoided; assists superiors in establishment of priorities, scope of mission and work schedules; must be able to perform the duties of Photographic Laboratory Specialist (84G20); supervises operation of photographic laboratory; assigns laboratory tasks to subordinate specialists on rotation basis to assure well rounded experience in all phases of photographic processing; prepares work schedules to insure completion of processing within time limits and in accordance with priorities; observes laboratory personnel to evaluate work techniques and to assure continuous practice of supply economy; corrects faulty work methods by demonstration and explanation of correct procedures and techniques; advises on solution of technical problems; spot checks completed work to assure that it meets prescribed standards; requisitions supplies and reviews, consolidates and prepares technical and administrative reports and records; must be able to perform the duties of Photographic Laboratory Specialist (84G40); serves as First Sergeant of a company; interprets and supervises execution of company policy and SOP; assists in planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities that support the company mission; advises company commander on all matters concerning enlisted personnel, to include assignments, reassignments, transfers, promotions, granting of passes and leave, punishments, welfare, privileges, and awards; directs and coordinates company administration; forms unit for drill, ceremonies, and other military formations; receives report of personnel present and absent, and reports number of unauthorized absences; holds NCO call to disseminate instructions and information to subordinate enlisted supervisors; coordinates operation of company food service and supply activities; assists company commander in accomplishing unit training; assists in inspection of organizational activities as prescribed by commander, observes discrepancies, and initiates appropriate corrective action.
