Performs and supervises detection, acquisition, identification, exploitation & location of static & dynamic target sources.
The SIGINT Sr SGT serves as staff NCO for major commands engaged in Signals intelligence/electronic warfare (SIGINT/EW) operations and combat development or training; supervises SIGINT/EW activities and provides technical, operational and administrative guidance and direction to enlisted soldiers at division, Corps and echelon above Corps; reviews, evaluates, prepares and executes SIGINT/EW deployment, employment and redeployment plans and orders; interprets intelligence requirements for translation into SIGINT/EW tasking; reviews SIGINT/EW doctrinal publications and prepares recommended changes; compares modification table of organization and equipment (MTOE) and table of distribution and allowances (TDA) authorization documents with SIGINT/EW missions and functions and recommends revisions; provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections, visits and ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; ensures adherence to command policies; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instruction; ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service and command regulations or policies; responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of enlisted soldiers; assesses training at all levels and provides feedback to appropriate commanders and leaders; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted soldiers of the command; responsible for and provides guidance on Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Program (NCODP); inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; serves as president or member of command promotion board or removal board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; sits as chairperson or member of a command's Military Member of the Quarter/Year competition for enlisted soldiers or NCOs, as directed by local regulations; responsible for quality, control and training of noncommissioned officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely submissions; reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions on deficiencies to commanders, other leaders and rating officials; performs other duties prescribed by the commander; assists in the professional development of junior and company grade officer.
Provide tactical and technical guidance in platoon area of operations; plan, recommend and determine employment and operational techniques; plan collection and exploitation strategies and allocates personnel and equipment resources; apply intelligence collection and surveillance planning process to operations; conduct intelligence surveillance and collection training.
Operates and performs operator maintenance on ground surveillance systems, organic communications equipment, light wheeled vehicles and power sources; operates SIGINT/EW and Ground Surveillance equipment to detect, acquire, identify, locate and exploit target communication and non-communication signals; provide processing and reporting of intercepted signals; assists in emplacement, camouflage and recovery of ground surveillance systems and associated equipment; detect, locate and report target data by interpreting ground surveillance system information; provide tactical and technical guidance in team area of operations; assists in planning surveillance missions using maps, aerial photographs, terrain studies and intelligence reports; perform collection management functions in support of collection operations; quality controls processing and reporting procedures; supervises emplacement operations and maintenance of SIGINT/EW and ground surveillance systems and associated equipment; evaluates mission tasks and assist in formulating collection plans; determine collection requirements and site selection for remote missions; integrate other unit collection assets with surveillance systems; recommend methods of employment; selects potential emplacement sites using maps, aerial photographs, terrain studies and intelligence reports; prepares overlays and surveillance maps and notifies supported command of team locations; maintain operational records; supervise processing and reporting of collection management processes.
