Supervises, operates, or performs organizational maintenance on the Air Defense Command and Control System (AN/TSQ-73).
Supervises or inspects organizational maintenance on the AN/TSQ-73 Air Defense Command and Control System; supervises organizational maintenance of IH Firing Section Equipment; must be able to perform duties of MOSC 24C40 or 24R40; supervises and coordinates organizational maintenance on IH High-powered Illuminator Radar, Missile Launching Section Control Box, and the mechanical hydraulic, and electrical systems of the launcher, loader-transporter, and other systems associated items and test equipment; serves as senior mechanic at battalion; advises battalion commander on organizational maintenance program; provides technical guidance to units on PLL technical supply procedures and coordinates maintenance calibration procedures within battalion; advises on system product improvement program (PIP) and monitors training; monitors the Missile Rocket, Unit Readiness Report, and other maintenance related reports to include unit operational status; establishes and maintains the on-the job training program for organizational mechanics IAW Soldier's Manual Critical Tasks.
Operates the Air Defense Artillery Command and Control System in collection, evaluation, and distribution of target data to air defense artillery fire units and other TACS/TADS participating units; operates general purpose display control and communications stations; monitors display status panels and auxiliary readouts to ensure correct identity, designation, and engagement of targets; performs march order and emplacement; performs full range of maintenance on display consoles, radar integration, power supplies, communications equipment, general purpose computer with associated buffers and peripheral devices; performs organizational maintenance on tools, test equipment, and equipment shelter; conducts system checks, detects, and corrects mechanical and electrical malfunctions; detects, localizes, and isolates system malfunctions, using automatic and semiautomatic programed maintenance diagnostics, unit self-test, the module test set, and standard electronic test equipment; removes and replaces faulty assemblies and circuit cards; provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel in accomplishment of duties; supervises on-the-job training and all operation/repair activities of subordinate personnel.
