Builds and repairs walls, drains, bridge supports, roadways, chimneys, and other masonry structures.
Must know types of cement and batching formulas for different mortar and concrete mixes; must know uses and maintenance requirements of masonry tools; must know types and amount of bracing required for concrete forms; must know pertinent safety precautions; must be able to use hammers, chisels, rappers, trowels, and other tools to shape stone; must be able to read blueprints and other building plans and to determine type and amount of materials required; must be able to demonstrate and explain methods and procedures of masonry work.
