Supervises or performs organizational maintenance on NIKE HERCULES fire control equipment and radar target simulator.
Supervises and coordinates organizational main tenance on NIKE HERCULES Fire Control equipment to include radar target simulator; serves as section chief of NIKE Fire Control Mechanics; serves as chief Fire Control Mechanic at battalion or higher level to assist in supervision and coordination of maintenance activities in subordinate units; serves as principal NCO in unit at battalion level or higher performing DS/GS maintenance on the NIKE missile system; serves as First Sergeant of a company; performs duties associated with SQI M; serves as chief instructor in a training facility, chief adviser to a Reserve Component unit, or chief adviser to a foreign military unit.
Performs organizational maintenance on Target Tracking Radar, Target Ranging Radar, Missile Tracking Radar, computer, multichannel data recorder, and associated battery control circuits; performs checks and adjustments authorized at organizational level; localizes malfunctions and accomplishes repairs authorized at organizational level using authorized tools, test equipment, and parts; performs duties shown in preceding level of skill and provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel; installs equipment modifications, provides technical assistance in conduct of operational and maintenance inspections; initiates requests for repair parts, tools, test equipment, and other supplies; completes maintenance and supply; provides technical supervision in training maintenance personnel; supervises the preparation of technical forms and reports; determines faulty work practices and demonstrates proper maintenance and troubleshooting techniques; supervises the requisitioning and stock of supplies and repair parts; organizes and supervises maintenance and inspection teams.
Performs duties shown in preceding level skill; serves as principal NCO in unit at battalion level or higher performing DS/GS maintenance on the NIKE missile system; serves as First Sergeant of a company; performs duties associated with SQI M; serves as chief instructor in a training facility, chief adviser to a Reserve Component unit, or chief adviser to a foreign military unit; provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.
