Inspects, tests, alines, calibrates, and performs maintenance and repair of the unattended ground sensor systems.

Must know electrical and electronic fundamentals of solid state devices as applicable to circuitry in digital and analog communications equipment; must know how to apply theory and system analysis in diagnosing and isolating faulty circuits and components; must be familiar with unique modular constructed components and be able to assemble these modules to operate in a preplanned manner; must know procedures to remove; repair, and replace components and parts including breaking of permanent-type connections; must be able to read and interpret applicable electronic circuit diagrams and pertinent technical publications; must know safety precautions to be exercised when working with energized circuitry, and action to be taken in event of injury; must know functions of the various subsystems, operating procedures, and organizational maintenance requirements, and be able to instruct operator personnel in the performance of organizational maintenance.

Must be qualified as Satellite Communications Ground Station Equipment Repairman (26Y40); must know office management, station management, and supervisory techniques and responsibilities; must know military organization and procedures applicable to large fixed and transportable satellite ground terminals; must know publications and directives governing Army and station administrative procedures; must know precedence of military directives; must know Army chain of command; must know precautions to be exercised in handling classified material; must know directives and procedures governing publication and distribution of military orders, bulletins, circulars, and memorandums; must be able to use directives, manuals, and regulations to locate specific policies and procedures.

Must be qualified as Unattended Ground Sensor Systems Repairman (26U20); must know general support and depot maintenance procedures pertaining to electrical and electronic test equipment peculiar to unattended ground sensor systems; must know repair and salvage possibilities of equipment and parts; must be able to read and interpret complex circuit and schematic diagrams; must be able to diagnose and determine causes of unusual malfunction or nonfunction of electrical and electronic devices; must be able to instruct in, explain, and interpret complex maintenance problems pertaining to electrical and electronic devices; must be able to perform maintenance quality control checks and final tests of repaired or rebuilt test equipment to meet necessary degree of accuracy as required by technical manuals, repaired equipment standards, or manufacturer's specifications; must be able to organize fixed or mobile maintenance units to accomplish unattended ground sensor systems equipment maintenance responsibilities; must be able to give instruction in all phases of maintenance, performance of maintenance responsibilities including records administration, and final testing problems pertaining to components of the unattended ground sensor systems; must know format of Army correspondence, preparation and maintenance of duty rosters, and other local regulations and procedures governing administration in the unit to which assigned; must know supply procedures pertaining to procurement of parts for unattended ground sensor systems equipment; must know procedures for submission of technical data to appropriate higher commands; must be qualified as Satellite Communications Ground Station Equipment Repairman (26Y40); must know office management, station management, and supervisory techniques and responsibilities; must know military organization and procedures applicable to large fixed and transportable satellite ground terminals; must know publications and directives governing Army and station administrative procedures; must know precedence of military directives; must know Army chain of command; must know precautions to be exercised in handling classified material; must know directives and procedures governing publication and distribution of military orders, bulletins, circulars, and memorandums; must be able to use directives, manuals, and regulations to locate specific policies and procedures.
