Performs detection, acquisition, identification, and exploitation of foreign communications employing International Morse Code (IMC) and simple printer systems in a tactical or strategic environment.
Supervise EW/SIGINT activities and provide technical, operational, and administrative guidance and direction to enlisted personnel; perform duties associated with SQI M when assigned as first sergeant; review, evaluate, prepare, and execute EW/SIGINT deployment, employment, and redeployment plans and orders; interpret tactical and strategic intelligence requirements for translation into (EW/SIGINT tasking; assist commanders and staff in the appraisal of EW/SIGINT operations and the state of unit readiness; compare modification table of organization and equipment (MTOE) and table distribution and allowances (TDA) authorization documents with EW/SIGINT missions and functions, .and recommend revisions; review EW/SIGINT doctrinal publications and prepare recommended changes; determine staff actions necessary to support operational and administrative activities; provides advice and makes, recommendations to the commander aid staff on all matters pertain to enlisted personnel and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections and visits and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities facilities aid personnel as prescribed by the commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instructions; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs, of the service, and command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as president or, member of command promotion board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; performs other duties prescribed by, the commander.

Operates basic electronic equipment configurations, including radio receivers, special typewriters, teletype keyboard input devices, antenna selection control panels, intercommunications control panels, and magnetic tape recorders; operates radio and intercept equipment and provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel; supervises Morse intercept activities.
