Performs and repair general purpose TMDE Maintenance.

Operates and performs calibration by alignment and adjustment of electronic and mechanical components by comparing measurements of the unit under test to a known standard traceable to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); repairs general purpose and selected special purpose TMDE to component level by removing and replacing defective components; performs unit, direct support and general support (DS/GS) level maintenance on calibration standards and calibration accessories; operates and performs PMCS on vehicles and generators; performs special regulatory requirements associated with the calibration, maintenance and repair of Radiation Detecting, Indicating, and Computing (RADIAC) equipment; provides technical assistance to skill level one; performs cross checks of calibration standards through inter-comparison of team calibration standards; performs production control procedures; receives schedules and tracks equipment turned in for calibration or repair; maintains maintenance records, files, and provides reports to supported units; supervises and establishes workload priorities for elements of an Area TMDE Support Team (ATST) during split-based mode of operation; coordinates with supported units for turn in and pick up of TMDE; when assigned to an ATST performs duties as quality assurance, quality control (QA/QC) inspector, and implement quality control procedures; recommends procedures for receipt, storage, inspection, testing, and repair of items; organizes and conducts on the job training (OJT) programs; demonstrates proper maintenance and troubleshooting techniques; determines faulty work practices; prepares maintenance reports and develops load plans; coordinates the movement of ATST radioactive source and supervises the calibration and repair support of RADIAC equipment; acts as the local radiation protection officer and performs custodial duties for the unit's radioactive calibration source.

Supervises and performs all duties of skill levels one, performs team related administrative functions, provides supervision, quality assurance, technical guidance, training of subordinates, and coordinates the activities of TMDE support elements; provides technical guidance to lower grade personnel in the accomplishment of their duties; plans, coordinates, and supervises activities pertaining to training and technical operation of unit to which assigned; interprets and supervises execution of policies and SOP, develops and reviews correspondence relating to support activities; provides liaison to supported staff and commands; performs principal noncommissioned officer duties associated with SQI of M.

Provides advice and makes recommendations to the commander and staff on all matters pertaining to enlisted soldiers and their families; accompanies the commander on inspections, visits and ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities and personnel as prescribed by the commander; ensures adherence to command policies; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to announce information and instruction; ensures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service and command regulations or policies; responsible for monitoring training or conducts training of enlisted soldiers; assesses training at all levels and provides feedback to appropriate commanders and leaders; provides counsel and guidance to NCOs and other enlisted soldiers of the command; responsible for and provides guidance on Non-Commissioned Officer Education System (NCOES) and Non-Commissioned Officer Development Program (NCODP); inspects duties performed by subordinate NCOs; notes discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action; assists in reception of visitors to the command; serves as president or member of command promotion board or removal board for NCOs, as authorized by regulations; sits as chairperson or member of a command's Military Member of the Quarter/Year competition for enlisted soldiers or NCOs, as directed by local regulations; responsible for quality, control and training of noncommissioned officer evaluation reports (NCOER) while ensuring timely submissions; reviews evaluation reports to determine compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions on deficiencies to commanders, other leaders and rating officials; performs other duties prescribed by the commander; assists in the professional development of junior and company grade officer.
