Operates switchboards and radio consoles providing communications to the President of the United States, Vice President and their staffs.

Must be able to perform the duties of Central Office Operations Specialist, 72H20; supervises installation and operation of complete telephone and radio communications network; supervises installation and operation of telephone and radio communications facilities in conjunction with Presidential travel to any location in the world; estimates traffic loads and equipment utilization; coordinates with civilian telephone companies, both foreign and domestic, for placement of telephone service and long line circuits; establishes, keeps and supervises numerous emergency communications systems; establishes work shifts and assigns personnel to duties; supervises and monitors central office operators; evaluates work performance; takes corrective action where necessary; initiates training programs and sets standards for training of central office personnel; instructs in operations of various commercial switchboards; interprets operating principles of related commercial telephone communications equipment; supervises preventive maintenance of radio and telephone communications equipment, commercial switchboards, and auxiliary equipment; must be able to perform the duties of Data Communications Switching Center Specialist, 72G40; supervises data communications switching center operations in fixed or mobile ADMSC configuration; supervises operation of data communications systems; employs regulations and directives applicable to data communications operation; performs office management; assists in problem solving pertinent to programming, tributaries, equipment, maintenance, and administration of data communications system; prepares reports and provides technical information on cryptographic and data communications center operation to command and staff sections; supervises organization, training, and technical operations of unit to which assigned.

Must be able to perform the duties of Telephone Switchboard Operator, 72C20; operates commercial and secure telephone and radio communications, switchboards, consoles, and auxiliary equipment; acts as communications assistant for information; provides locator service for the members of the President's staff and Executive Branch of the Government; prepares and keeps roster on current locations of staff, cabinet, and military aides, and disseminates changes to all concerned parties; memorizes names, titles, code names and individuals; recognizes individuals by voice; prepares charts circuitry logs and worldwide locator systems on Presidential communications networks; applies telephone operator and basic operating procedures to appropriate types of commercial switchboards; applies current emergency operational requirements and procedures; performs the basic switchboard installation and interfaces radio-phone equipment; establishes radio wire integration by use of phone patching equipment from mobile ground and air units; sets up and operates secure voice transmissions equipment to provide ground and air communications; makes continuity checks to insure workable circuits of high reliability to all local and nationwide circuits; performs preventive maintenance on switchboard and auxiliary equipment; performs comparison checks and adjusts electronic equipment.

Must be able to perform the duties of Data Communications Switching Center Specialist, 72G40; supervises data communications switching center operations in fixed or mobile ADMSC configuration; supervises operation of data communications systems; employs regulations and directives applicable to data communications operation; performs office management; assists in problem solving pertinent to programming, tributaries, equipment, maintenance, and administration of data communications system; prepares reports and provides technical information on cryptographic and data communications center operation to command and staff sections; supervises organization, training, and technical operations of unit to which assigned; must be able to perform the duties of at least one MOS at skill level 5; advises commander and staff on matters pertinent to troop welfare and morale in terms of assignment, reassignment, utilization, promotion, privileges, discipline, training, operations, and logistics; accompanies commander on inspections, visits, and at ceremonies; assists in inspection of command activities, facilities, and personnel as prescribed by commander; holds First Sergeants' or Sergeants' Major call to disseminate information and instruction; insures that newly assigned enlisted personnel are instructed in military courtesy, customs of the service, and in command regulations or policies; provides counsel and guidance to noncommissioned officers and other enlisted personnel of the command; inspects duties performed by subordinate noncommissioned officers; makes notes of observed discrepancies and initiates appropriate corrective action in name of commander; assists in reception of visitors to the command; sits as member of command promotion board for senior noncommissioned officers, where authorized by pertinent regulations; performs those additional duties prescribed by the commander.
