Installs interior and exterior wiring to generators or low (600 volts or less) or high (more than 600 volts) voltage power sources.
Must be qualified as Electrician (51R30); must know construction of work platforms to support auxiliary electrical equipment above ground; must know purpose, operation, capabilities, and limitations of various types of electrical equipment, devices, and material used in erection and maintenance of high voltage electrical transmission systems; must know procedures and techniques of instructing subordinate personnel in erection and maintenance of high voltage electrical transmission systems; must be able to supervise team engaged in high voltage cable splicing, pole line construction, and maintenance of transmission systems; must be able to specify changes in work planning to obtain maximum use of time, material and personnel, improve quality of work, and eliminate or decrease maintenance; must be able to plan, coordinate, and supervise activities of number of teams operating jointly or separately in erection and maintenance of high voltage transmission system; must be able to advise on intricate construction work, sequence of work operations, and general working procedures; must be able to estimate tools, equipment and supplies required to execute assignments; must be qualified as Electrician (51R40); must know technical mission, responsibilities and operations of company to which assigned; must know techniques and tactics pertaining to unit defense; must know military subjects, including drill and parade formations, field sanitation, field mess operations, selection of bivouac areas, and use of unit weapons; must know Army clerical, personnel and administrative procedures, regulations, and directives applicable to company operations; must know format of Army correspondence, format of company orders, preparation of morning report, maintenance of duty rosters, and regulations governing mail service at company level; must know channels servicing company; must know fundamentals of requisitioning and storage of rations, preparation and serving of food, and care of mess equipment to assure that unit mess meets prescribed standards; must be able to read and utilize TOE, TDA, and supply manuals.

Must be qualified as Construction and Utilities Worker (51A10); must know precautions to be exercised when working with electrical systems and emergency action to be taken in the event of injury; must know principles of alternating and direct current electricity; must know installation, repair and techniques applicable to interior and low voltage (600 volts or less) exterior electrical systems; must be able to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematic diagrams and wire circuit drawings; must be able to estimate bill of materials; must be able to perform elementary circuit calculations using simple algebraic formulas; must be able to set up, use, and perform user maintenance on electrical test equipment, apparatus and tools; must be able to compute voltage, amperage, and resistance factors involving simple algebraic formulas.
